About

Welcome to all the news that’s fit to bling from me, the original Ugly Betty. I was born in a tiny village in Malawi, Africa. I grew up to broadcast to millions within the global village. That’s in spite of villains who told me I was too ugly and too stupid to achieve my dreams.

I showed them. What helped me is found within the pages of  my book, Starring in Your Own Life published by Simon & Schuster. You can read an excerpt at www.nozizwe.com. If you don’t want to get the book, here’s the take away.

It’s all about the inner bling. And of yeah. You’ve got to fight for your right to sparkle.

I enjoyed the snippets of you. Bento baby, bento. I want a Bento box too! I will have to look for one the next time I am in Philly. My daughter wants one as well. I am actually building a blog on blogspot … LOL! You are simply AMAZING. I really do miss you and will get in touch with you soon.

That’s so groovy. I want to keep track of the bento progress of you and your daughter.
I did a bit of research and found out that the 10th St hood in Philly is your best bet in terms of finding a bento.
I have not bought an official one yet. I’ve been using a storage container from Crate & Barrel.
In terms of size, look for one with a capacity of 350 ml. Stuff it with healthy food and you’ll have about 350 calories.
Eventually I’d love to get the bento below and then get a more traditional lacquered one. But the truth is that all you need to start to bento is a container, Tupperware will do, a knife and a will to eat well.
