Want a Side of Gratitutde With That?

November 7, 2009

When growing up, before we could dig into  my  Mom’s  delish breakfast, lunch or dinner, my brothers and I were taught to pray in unison, “Give us this day our daily bread.”

As a child, I’m not sure I really understood what it meant.  Even the BBC says religious scholars are split over the meaning of this phrase in the Lord’s Prayer. What I do know is that the verse made me focus on gratitude, perhaps the most ingredient of any kitchen.

As an adult I realize that it’s an ingredient that it enhances every meal.
