What Do You Serve a Vegetarian? The White House Has Some Ideas

Below is  the official menu of the White House State Dinner to honor India’s Prime Minister Manmohan Singh who is a vegetarian. It’s all veggie, save the prawns.
And this is what guests were wearing.

If you are having trouble with your own Thanksgiving, mine this menu  for ideas.

Red Lentil Soup with Fresh Cheese

Roasted Potato Dumplings
With Tomato Chutney
Chick Peas and Okra
Green Curry Prawns

With Smoked Collard Greens
and Coconut Aged Basmati

Pear Tatin
Whipped Cream and Caramel Sauce

Petits Fours and Coffee
Cashew Brittle
Pecan Pralines
Passion Fruit and Vanilla Gelees
Chocolate-Dipped Fruit
