Stop the Lindsanity: Lindsay Lohan needs to be adopted by Malawian parents

May 25, 2010

There were two helicopters circling above.

More than 100  journalists and paparazzi were preying below.

But Lindsay Lohan’s parents were no where in sight as she walked into the Beverly Hills Courthouse this morning.

She was there after missing a hearing last week related to her DUI arrest.

I was there. So it got me thinking,  this troubled girl needs to be adopted by a family from Malawi.

Someone needs to look after her.  News organizations have already prepared obituaries for her, just in case.

In 2007 Lindsay pleaded guilty to cocaine use and driving under the influence.  She’s still on probation.

Missing a court date last week may have put that arrangement into jeopardy. Her excuse to the judge was that she lost her passport while attending the Cannes Film Festival.

Today Judge Marsha Revel told a very weary looking Lindsay that she has to wear an alcohol  monitoring ankle bracelet.

Her father issued a statement saying that the hearing was of “no consequence because incarceration or judgment are not options at this time…”

He says he and Lindsay’s mother, Dina, will be there for the  the probation violation hearing in July.

You get the feeling that Lindsay needs her parents right now.

Agreed. She seemed as if she just popped into court after a night of partying. You can’t really stop someone who wants to destroy themselves–but you can be there.
