Pop It Like It’s Hot: Lemon & Black Grape Popsicles

July 22, 2010

I’ll never be the hippest person in the room. That does not mean I’m not cool.

It’s been so hot in SoCa that I had to figure out a few ways to chill, starting with returning to my youth and my love for popsicles. Of course I had to hype it up. I had some Lemon JELL-O hanging around with nothing to do and a bulging fruit basket with black grapes.

This recipe will put you back about 85 calories a pop, only 15 is you use sugarless JELL-O.

The pops were so easy to make. All you need is:

Equipment

  • A popsicle mold
  • Another option is to use small cups, I’ve even used individual yogurt containers
If you go the cup or container route you’ll need craft sticks.

Ingredients

  • Lemon JELL-O
  • 1 c boiling water
  • 1 c cold water
  • A handful of black grapes

Method

  • Mix the JELL-O with the boiling water
  • Add the cold water
  • Stir well
  • Pour into molds or cups
  • Chill for 30 minutes
  • Add grapes. You can add them earlier if you don’t mind them sinking to the bottom.
  • Freeze
  • When your pops are good to go, run the mold under warm water
  • and set them free
  • Chill
